The agreement between you and Restrike. Written to be read.

Restrike is a record-keeping tool for options strategies, and a calculator for a monthly short-put overlay. You enter your own figures, or import them read-only from your brokerage, and it computes contract counts, margin requirements, cushions and dates from them.
Restrike is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and its author is not registered as any of those. Nothing it produces is a recommendation, a solicitation, or advice tailored to your circumstances. Figures quoted anywhere on this site or in its emails are backtested and hypothetical: they describe past data and are not a forecast or a promise of future results.
Deciding what to trade, at what size, and whether to trade at all, is entirely yours. If you want advice, ask somebody registered to give it.
Restrike does not give tax advice, and its author is not a tax professional, an accountant, or an attorney. Where this site describes how a rule works, it is describing a rule in general terms. It is not applying that rule to you, your account, your holdings or your tax year, and it cannot.
Anything written here about taxes is general information about United States federal rules only. It takes no account of your state, your residence, your entity type, your other positions, or anything else that changes the answer. Tax rules also change, and a description that was accurate when written may not be now.
Before you act on anything tax-related that you read here, take it to a qualified tax professional. That is not a formality. The rules that apply to options written against stock you already own are among the more intricate in the code, and whether any of them applies to you turns on facts this site never sees.
Restrike cannot and will not place an order, cancel one, or move money, on any plan. Where it connects to a brokerage it does so read-only, through a third-party provider, and the set of calls it is permitted to make is restricted to reading positions and balances.
No brokerage credential passes through Restrike. You authorise the connection on the provider's own pages, and you can disconnect at any time, whether or not you have an active subscription.
Signing in is by emailed link. There is no password, so there is none to lose. Keep access to your email address secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Restrike computes from your figures and cannot know whether they are right.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service, to send mail to people who did not ask for it, or in breach of these terms.
The calculator is free. Restrike Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. No card details ever reach Restrike; Stripe holds them.
Every new account starts with a free Pro trial, running through the first standard monthly options expiration at least thirty days after the account was created, and to the Monday after it. The date is shown in the app and does not change once given. No card is asked for. When the trial ends the account moves to the free plan unless you have subscribed, and subscribing during the trial starts billing when the trial ends. One trial per person.
You may cancel at any time from your own billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal and your subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not automatically refund part-used periods, but if something has gone wrong, write to support@userestrike.com and it will be dealt with reasonably.
Cancelling, or a trial ending, stops the paid features. It does not delete your position log or your holdings, and it never traps a brokerage connection: disconnecting works on any plan. The connection is kept for fourteen days, so subscribing in that time finds it as it was, and is then removed.
Prices may change. An existing subscription keeps its price until you are told otherwise, with notice, before a renewal at a new price.
Restrike is provided as it is. It is a small product run by one person and it may be unavailable, delayed, or wrong. Reminders and alerts are sent on a best-effort basis and depend on services outside our control, including your brokerage, your email provider, and the data your broker reports, which is cached and can be up to a day old.
Do not rely on a Restrike alert as your only warning about a margin position. Your broker is the authority on your account, and its figures are the ones that matter.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Restrike and its author are not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including from an alert that did not arrive, arrived late, or was computed from stale brokerage data.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
What you type stays yours. We store it to provide the service, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers. See the privacy policy for what is kept and for how to have it deleted.
These terms may change as the product does. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date at the top, and by email if they affect a paid plan.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the author resides.
